SUGGESTION: Make Running Official
There might already be threads about this but I still need to start a new one.
I'm suggesting this because Running (such as farming) has became a player-made content in pve over time.
As to why I'm suggesting this: The main reason is Scam. People want to earn time by skipping the part of the continent which they've played over and over before, so they pay to get to, say, Droknar's Forge. But when it's people you are dealing with, no matter how careful you are you might be ripped off your well deserved gold.
Us runners are usually putting more time into running than most players think we do. We need to practice, deal with the skill balances, make runs occasionally to keep form, keep in mind the pattern of patrols on the map we are running in, deal with anomalies that we encounter during running on the fly, so on and so long...
And I believe that this effort should be granted its prize, without any doubts. I think I speak for all the runners out there when I say this; We want to be sure that we get our money on success.
Imagine multiple runners being scammed and reporting this to Devs. They already have so much goin on in the HQ, so why deal with this too?
I instead suggest this: Make a title for Running. Let's say that this title has 3 ranks. For the Runners of the 3rd rank, make Token Boxes available to them. So in a place like Beacon's Perch, let's say a runner is shouting for a run for 3k per head. Instead, let him decide a price per token (3k in this case). Players who want to get ran to Droknar, should buy a token from the runner, BUT the runner only recieves this cash when he reaches Droknar's Forge. To be more simple:
-Runner has a token box containing 5 tokens
-Each player can buy a single token for a price the runner decides
-Player buys a token, loses 3k / Runner gets nothing
-Runner reaches Droknar / gets the 3k per token he sold in Beacons.
Not to mention the people who disconnect mid-run will be safe too.
What'cha all think?

Quite possibly the most ridiculous suggestion ever.
There are no professions in Guild Wars.
Running isn't sanctioned, but allowed.
You get scammed, that's your fault. What's so hard about collecting payment at the halfway point?

I'm a flag runner, and I have never got scammed at a halfway point. Those mobs around the flagstand can be tough though.

No, what you need to do is read some forum stickies and do some research before bringing something like this up.
ArenaNet doesn't endorse runners. Just because they haven't stopped it completely yet, that doesn't mean they are going to throw valuable time into saving players who do it from being scammed. It's the individual's responsibility to make sure things like that don't happen, not ArenaNet's.
